General Event Policies

The SL11B Community Celebration is a General rated event.

Maturity Policy

Please note: the regions for the Second Life® community celebration are all General rated (http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Maturity-ratings/ta-p/700119), same as they have been for a bit more than half the history of the event. The reason the event is general rated is a simple one: this allows the greatest number of people to attend the event.

The following content is not appropriate in regions with a General maturity rating: Intense, strong language or expletives. Nudity or sexual content in textures, sounds, or animations. Content depicting sex, strong violence, or anything else broadly offensive. Soliciting of chat sex, avatar nudity, and so on.

We understand that some wish to have moderate or event adult rated content at the event, and we are sorry that we cannot accommodate this and still be open to all Residents of Second Life. Please understand that we did not choose these ratings out of any desire to exclude any part or portion of Second Life from the mix: we respect and celebrate the rich diversity that is Second Life

We welcome proposals for space at the event from all groups — including those who may be adult in nature — provided they will be able to abide by the maturity ratings for a general rated space.

We understand, too, that this may be difficult for many such groups. As we have in the past, we will be offering a space to cross-link to other events from ours, so you are welcome to create your own event space outside of the Community Celebration.

Of course, in addition to the General maturity rating guidelines, the Second Life Terms of Service (http://lindenlab.com/tos), and Second Life Community Standards (http://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php) will apply to all participants and visitors at the event as they do throughout Second Life.

We adhere strictly to Second Life Terms of Service and Community Standards.

As part of Second Life, all of the SL11B Community Celebration regions follow the aforementioned Second Life Terms of Service and the Second Life Community Standards. To learn more, you can read about Second Life Terms of Service and Community Standards on the Second Life website.

The SL11B Community Celebration staff will enforce compliance with the Second Life Terms of Service and Community Standards by builders,  and participants, and they may ask you to adjust your build or conduct to comply. All decisions are final.

Play nice!

The volunteer staff of the SL11B Community Celebration are here to help you with reasonable requests for assistance with your build or performance. Harassing these volunteers is not acceptable. Please be courteous to these fellow residents who donate their time for the good of the community. Any builders, exhibitors, performers or attendees who harass staff will be removed from the event.

Photography and Video is encouraged!

Photography and video is encouraged at the SL11B Community Celebration event.

You agree that your build, performance or avatar may be photographed or videoed by the SL11B Community Celebration organizers and used to promote the SL11B Community Celebration event. No compensation is due for this use.

You agree that your build, performance or avatar may be photographed or videoed by anyone attending the event in any capacity. The organizers encourage the taking and sharing of photos and machinima, but are not responsible for the use of any material taken by event attendees.

Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to read these rules and guidelines, and thank you for being a part of the SL11B Community Celebration and Second Life.
